Other times, the Mii will drop the item, but then pull it back up with a string. Sometimes, the Mii will tell the player something to distract him/her and then drop the item so the player will hardly notice. If the player manages to catch it, the prize is whatever the player caught. The Mii drops a treasure and the player has to try and catch it. Treasures are items Miis give to you to sel at the Pawn Shop and Gifts and items you give to Miis. You can also gives Miis accents from other countries. Mii Creation remains untouched except a load more mii customization options, the ability to import Miis from the Tomodachi Life Portalverse Social Media group and the ability to determine whether a Mii is straight, gay/lesbian or bisexual.

The Mii Apartments are where the Miis live. The game takes place on an island (that the player names upon boot-up) but there are many places with-in it. New features have been added too such as gay/lesbian/bisexual relationships (this is turned off from default due many parents not approving but can be toggled on at will, although once turned on it can't be turned off) but, to avoid confusion or offense, Mii's preference of relationship can be chosen in the Mii set-up. You set your Miis (either made directly in game, imported from the Mii Maker or added from the Portalverse Social Media's Tomodachi Life Community) off on an island to live their life, have fun and even get married. The gameplay is very similar to the previous version/s.
